Information is Everywhere

I am reading about information and the methods that people use to get the information they need. More than learning what information is I am discovering that there are all sorts of ways that people use to get the information that they want. Most of us tend to ask our family when we need to know something. If your family is like mine, they are not always a reliable source. Ask five family members the same question you will get five different answers. Our next go to source is the internet which is sketchy unless we know exactly where to look and exactly what we are looking for in exact terms.

Where we look for information depends on the type of data we need. If we need a recipe we may go to grandma, a cookbook, or the food network. If we need medical information we would go to our doctor, or my favorite, Web Md. Where we look is dictated by what we are looking for.

So what is the best source for information? The answer is easy, there is not one best source for information, unless you are looking for God. The Westminster Shorter Catechism’s definition of God is merely an enumeration of his attributes: “God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.” The best source for finding information about God is the Bible. Sure church is a good place to start and a priest is even better, but to really know God, get to know Him from God Himself. The primary source is God’s word. You can learn all you need to know about God from the book He wrote.

God is Love 1Jo 4:16, Spirit Jhn 4:24, Holy One Psa 16:10, I Am Jhn 8:58, The Alpha & Omega, The Beginning & End Rev 1:8, Almighty Exd 6:3, The Creator of the World Jhn 1:3, Infinite 1Ki 8:27, All Powerful Jer 32:17,27, All Knowing 1Jo 3:20,Ever Present Psa 139:1, 13,Unchangeable Num 23:19 and this is just a short list of the attributes of God. There are many many more.

I challenge you to get to know the One True God right from the source.
